WWE Hall Of Famer Open To AEW Switch
A WWE legend could appear in AEW.
Since making his return to AEW at Worlds End in December 2024, Cope has been on a mission to rid the company of Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.
This quest saw him challenge Moxley for the World Championship, not once, but twice, however, he was unsuccessful on both occasions. In his battle against the group, Cope has found himself backed up by the likes of FTR, Jay White, and Willow Nightingale who delighted in taking out Marina Shafir.
But what if he was given a helping hand by someone much closer to home?
WWE Legend Hasn’t Closed The Door On AEW
During an interview with TV Insider, Cope was asked whether his wife Beth Phoenix could join him in AEW. The veteran hinted that an appearance remains a possibility, but he was excited to work with AEW’s own Willow Nightingale as he battled the Death Riders.
“You never know. I don’t think she has completely closed the door on it if the situation fits.
I think where we were at, I think getting Willow [Nightingale] involved was good. Someone who was already on our roster, and I feel is just such a natural babyface and has such good energy. I thought she would be really cool to implement her into the story. Why not use someone who was already on the roster?
Beth is also pretty busy. She has a pretty busy life, so it becomes more a family issue and how do we pull it off if we’re both outgoing,”
Back in August Beth Phoenix confirmed she’d left WWE and was a free agent, however, she declined to give any details on her next move.
After beating Cope for a second time on Dynamite, Jon Moxley will now defend the AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland at Dynasty on April 6. Strickland has a strong success rate at the event, having won the World Championship for the first time on the same pay-per-view in 2024.
