WWE Hall Of Famer Was Happy To See MVP Debut In AEW

AEW MVP

A wrestling legend who knows MVP very well is happy to see the former WWE superstar in All Elite Wrestling.

There was a lot of speculation that Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) was headed to All Elite Wrestling since his WWE deal had expired earlier this year. While Porter spent a lot of years in WWE over the last 20 years, he also had success wrestling in Japan, TNA, and other places as well.

This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, MVP interrupted a Prince Nana interview to talk about how former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland lost his last two matches at All In to Bryan Danielson and All Out to “Hangman” Adam Page. Porter would go on to give Nana his business card and told him to give it to Swerve, which Nana wasn’t thrilled about since Nana is Swerve’s manager.

While speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast/radio show, WWE Hall of Famer and NXT announcer Booker T praised the former US Champion for his work as a wrestler and manager.

“MVP is a guy who during the pandemic was one of the MVPs. He did some hell of a work during that time as well as with Bobby Lashley in the Hurt Business. He did some really, really good work. He really did.”

“So for me to have someone like MVP to be able to carry that mantle, because he does it and he does it well, for that reason and that reason only, like a Paul Heyman. We have very few guys who can step into that position that can actually go out there and make somebody look good and they don’t even have to get in the ring to actually do it. That’s MVP.”

“So give that guy his shine as far as being that guy who can go out there and get that done with these young guys. For me, I’m glad to see him be there.”

Could MVP And Bobby Lashley Reunite In AEW?

In recent weeks, MVP has been trademarking several phrases and names for wrestling use, while a group listed as Totally Harmless Concept LLC filed to trademark “The Hurt Syndicate.”

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was in The Hurt Business group with MVP, Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander earlier this decade. The group wanted to reunite in WWE, but the creative team didn’t want to do it, so now that Porter is AEW, the group could get back together since Lashley and Benjamin are free agents while Alexander remains in WWE.

It’s not officially known yet if Lashley is going to AEW, but not that Porter is there, it will certainly lead to fans thinking that it’s going to happen.
