WWE Hall Of Famer Managing New Team In AEW
One WWE Hall of Famer has resurfaced in AEW with a new team under their experienced wing.
One of the most surprising success stories over the six years of AEW was the rise of The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn. Thrown together when Gunn’s own sons, Austin and Colten, turned their backs on him, Gunn became one of the most popular stars on the AEW roster with chants of “Oh, scissor me daddy,” reverberating around arenas thanks to his new nickname of Daddy Ass.
An AEW Tag Team Title reign for Max Caster and Anthony Bowens soon followed, and when that came to an end, they teamed with Gunn to capture the AEW Trios Championship. The first gold Gunn had held on TV since what many thought would be his final resurrection with Road Dogg in WWE in 2014.
Eventually, The Acclaimed collapsed with Bowens and Caster unable to work together. They went their separate ways, but by either accident or design, they have reluctantly been forced back as a unit to try and rebuild their careers in AEW. But now it looks like they’ll be doing it without Billy Gunn.
Billy Gunn Teams Up With Ex-WWE Talent
In a dark match before AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming, Gunn appeared in the corner of Brady Booker and Elijah Drago as they defeated two local talents.
Brady Booker might be familiar to WWE fans as he was the former Bodhi Hayward, who competed in NXT until he was released by the company in late 2022.
