WWE Hall Of Famer Labels Paul Heyman And Jim Cornette As

WWE Hall of Famer and iconic commentator Jim Ross shared his thoughts on the greatest managers in professional wrestling.

During an episode of his podcast, “Grilling JR,” Ross, who has spent decades in the wrestling industry, highlighted two names in particular: Jim Cornette and Paul Heyman, both of whom he considers among the most brilliant in the business. Ross had especially high praise for Cornette. He reflected on Cornette’s impact on the industry, acknowledging his skill both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Speaking fondly of his colleague, Ross said:

Happy birthday Corny, he’s still brilliant, there’s no doubt the most brilliant manager I’ve ever been around.

This praise carries weight, given Ross’s vast experience in the wrestling world. Throughout his long career, Ross has worked with countless legendary figures, making his high regard for Cornette stand out. He added:

Corny is special, there’s no doubt he’s very special.

Ross also addressed Cornette’s controversial nature, admitting that, while Cornette often stirs up strong opinions, his contributions to the industry are undeniable.

I know he’s controversial, and he stirs up the s**t, but that’s the business he’s in right now, it’s insane to say that, but I miss a lot of the things Cornette did.

In addition to his managerial talents, Ross acknowledged Cornette’s creative prowess behind the scenes, especially on booking committees in WWE.

He was great on the booking committees, always had ideas. Believe it or not, he added logic to what we were doing because he understood the business.

Ross also praised Paul Heyman, stating:

He and Paul Heyman, I had a lot of fun working with those guys.
