WWE Hall Of Famer Names Kurt Angle Greatest Worker Ever
Kurt Angle deserves more credit.
After establishing himself as one the greatest wrestlers of his generation with WWE between 1999 and mid-2006, Kurt Angle headed to TNA.
At the time Angle was struggling badly with burnout and his body was betraying him thanks to a series of serious injuries, but he remained determined to continue his career at a high level.
During his time with TNA, Angle clashed with the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, before heading up the Main Event Mafia alongside Kevin Nash, Booker T, Sting, Scott Steiner, Christian Cage, Traci Brooks, and former rival Joe.
On a recent episode of his Kliq This podcast, Nash looked back on this part of his career, before naming Angle the greatest worker ever. He added that the old TNA locker room deserves more credit than it often receives.
“I think Kurt is the greatest worker that has ever been in this business. People, I guess, weren’t privy to his run at TNA. I guess because it’s not out there on the network, but that TNA era of the AJs, the Alex Shelleys, the Sabins, Homicide, I mean, there was so much talent in the locker room and so much talent in that six-sided ring. I don’t think that era of wrestling in TNA get their flowers.”
Kurt Angle Regrets Extending Career
During a wide-ranging interview back in January, Kurt Angle admitted he regretted wrestling as long as he did. To the surprise of many, he said he wished he would have ended his career back in 2009, instead of a decade later when injuries had truly taken their toll.
Angle explained that with hindsight he should have left TNA for WWE in 2009 before retiring while he was closer to his peak.
Somewhat in agreement with Nash, in 2024, Kurt Angle said his TNA run deserves more credit, describing himself as a “man on a mission.”
