WWE Hall Of Famer Returns To Key Backstage Role After Hiatus
A Hall of Famer who has a major role behind the scenes in WWE was back at work this week.
Michael Hayes is a WWE Hall of Famer who was best known for being part of the Freebirds group. Hayes wrestled for many years as Michael PS Hayes before retiring in the early 1990s.
For the past 30 years, Hayes has worked behind-the-scenes in WWE as one of the major Producers in the company, which means he helps wrestlers put together matches and segments.
It was reported recently that Hayes was taken off the road by WWE because he had to take care of a personal issue that was believed to be medical in nature. The specific reason was never revealed, but apparently, things are better now.
Michael Hayes Returned To WWE At SmackDown Tapings
Fightful Select reports that Michael Hayes was back at work at WWE SmackDown in Salt Lake City for a double taping that covered the November 22nd and November 29th episodes of the show.
The report noted that Hayes was back at work helping put together the segments involving The BLoodline groups. For the past four years, Hayes has worked heavily with The Bloodline group in terms of helping them put together their matches and segments.
Michael Hayes has worked for WWE since 1995 after retiring as a wrestler. Fans of that era will remember when he was known as a backstage interviewer, announcer and pitchman named Dok Hendrix.
As the years went on, Hayes became one of the longest-tenured backstage producers who worked with a lot of main event talent in the past 30 years. In the current era, Hayes has worked a lot as the agent/producer for Roman Reigns’ matches. It’s well known that Hayes has a close association with the Anoa’i family going back to the 1970s.
