WWE Hall Of Famer “Nonplussed” By Joe Hendry WrestleMania Moment

Joe Hendry

A WWE legend and current AEW figure isn’t sure that Joe Hendry’s WrestleMania appearance was needed.

At WrestleMania 41, Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance to answer Randy Orton’s open challenge.

Although Hendry got in his signature poses and moves, he was quickly dispatched by Orton following an RKO. To add another exclamation point on the loss, the TNA World Champion was given another RKO after the bell.

Orton had finally been scheduled to face Kevin Owens, but KO was forced to miss the event after suffering a serious neck injury that required surgery. In Owens’ absence, Orton briefly clashed with Nick Aldis on SmackDown, hitting the authority figure with an RKO.

Jim Ross Believes In Joe Hendry

During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross gave his thoughts on Hendry’s special WrestleMania appearance. The AEW veteran and WWE Hall of Famer questioned whether the moment needed to happen before praising Hendry for his work more generally.

“I’m nonplussed, to be honest with you. I don’t know if it needed to happen…

Joe Hendry is a top hand in my view. It’s just funny how Joe got a unique following, and I’m a big fan of his work, his in-ring work, and his work as a human being, a classy guy.”

Ross added that the crossover was not only good for Hendry, but the TNA brand’s association with WWE.

“It’s good for him. They’re building their brand, and Joe Hendry is a part of that brand building, so, all good. All good, in my view.”

Hendry followed up his WrestleMania loss on NXT, and his involvement with WWE looks set to continue following several run-ins with Trick Williams.
