WWE Hall Of Famer Costs Joe Hendry TNA World Title
Joe Hendry has missed out on the big one yet again.
2024 has been the biggest year of Joe Hendry’s career, but one thing remains missing.
As he gained momentum in the first part of the year, Hendry appeared in NXT and his popularity exploded. This excursion saw him challenge for the NXT Title at No Mercy, although he was ultimately unsuccessful.
Back in TNA, Hendry’s star continued to rise but the World Championship continued to elude him. At Slammiversary, Josh Alexander turned heel to cost Hendry a shot at the gold, but he eventually beat Frankie Kazarian to become the number one contender yet again.
This set up a match between Hendry and World Champion Nic Nemeth at Bound For Glory, with Kazarian acting as the special guest referee.
Joe Hendry Denied Yet Again
As expected the match was again full of twists and turns, but fans would have been hard-pressed to predict its stunning conclusion.
The first twist came as Kazarian attempted to cash in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy he’d won earlier in the night, despite being the referee. But this brought out JBL who made another surprise appearance to take out Kazarian with a Clothesline from Hell.
As JBL went to leave he said something to Hendry that appeared to confuse the Scottish star who pulled back the veteran. JBL then landed another massive clothesline on Hendry before blasting Ryan Nemeth for good measure.
With his opponent reeling, Nic Nemeth hit the Danger Zone, only for Hendry to kick out after another referee made their way to the ring. However, after avoiding the Standing Ovation, he hit the move for a second time to escape with the TNA World Title.
