WWE Hall Of Famer JBL Reflects On His APA Days With Ron Simmons
WWE Hall of Famer JBL shared heartfelt memories of his time in the iconic APA tag team alongside Ron Simmons.
Speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, the former WWE Champion reflected on the special bond he shared with Simmons and how it defined one of the most memorable chapters of his career.
The APA days because I had Ron Simmons with me, no doubt about it, I loved Ron and I still love Ron. I was with him this past weekend and I had so much fun. I sat with him for hours, we had fun, we went to the airport together like we always do.
During WWE’s Attitude Era, the APA, known for their no-nonsense, hard-hitting style, became one of the company’s most beloved tag teams. Their backstage poker games and penchant for delivering brutal beatdowns made them instant fan favourites. While JBL would later go on to carve out a highly successful solo career, he admitted the connection he shared with Simmons made his time as part of the APA particularly meaningful.
I just love Ron Simmons, and if I had been an APA member my entire career, I’d be fine with that.
As a singles competitor, Bradshaw achieved notable accolades, including a WWE Championship reign and a reputation as one of the top heels of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Yet, his reflections reveal the deep appreciation he has for his time in the APA, where camaraderie and mutual respect formed the foundation of their legacy.
Which WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks JBL Should Join AEW?
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff explained why he thinks JBL should be brought into AEW. Bischoff said that he thinks Bradshaw has the tools necessary to be a key part of AEW’s backroom staff in a talent management role, and that if Tony Khan can’t handle being an authoritative figure, Bradshaw would be a perfect fit for that role.
