WWE Hall Of Famer JBL Names John Cena Match As

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield shared his admiration for one of John Cena’s most iconic matches, praising the 2007 Royal Rumble’s Last Man Standing match between Cena and Umaga as one of the greatest he’s ever seen.

JBL, who was at ringside during the match, described how the match left a lasting impression on him.

“It was with Umaga, I think it was in San Antonio, but I was not calling the match, I remember because I did this a lot during Cena’s matches when I wasn’t calling them—I would take off my headset and just sit there and listen like a fan because I had the best seat in the house.”

Layfield singled out a particularly memorable moment from the match, which continues to resonate with him to this day.

“That’s when Umaga did the run across the three tables and the big splash, and Cena moved. To this day, that was one of the greatest matches I’ve ever seen.”

The former WWE Champion also noted how matches like Cena vs. Umaga rekindled his passion for the sport of professional wrestling.

“I just remember watching that and thinking that was why I love professional wrestling. It was that good, it was just amazing to watch.”
