WWE Hall Of Famer Apologizes For “Ill-Timed” Social Media Post

WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase has been forced to apologize for an ill-timed social media post following his son being indicted on federal fraud charges.

Fans of WWE know 40-year-old Ted Dibiase Jr. from his time as a wrestler on the main roster from 2008 to 2013. At that point, at the age of 30, Dibiase chose to not renew his WWE contract and walked away from the life of a pro wrestler that he grew up with as the son of the “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase.

On April 20th, the United States Department of Justice issued a press release stating that DiBiase Jr. was officially being indicted alleging that he used funds allocated for welfare to buy a boat and put a down payment on his house as well as other personal expenses.

The Million Dollar Man’s social media account sent out a Tweet on the same day with his catchphrase “everybody’s got a price” accompanied by an image of DiBiase stuffing dollar bills into an enhancement talent’s mouth as he used to do frequently. However, given the situation with his son, many felt that it was insensitive.

The WWE Hall of Famer took to social media again to issue an apology for the Tweet and noted that it was previously scheduled before the news about his son broke:

“I’D LIKE TO PERSONALLY ISSUE AN APOLOGY FOR AN UNTIMELY POST THAT WAS PUBLISHED THROUGH MY SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS EARLIER TODAY.

“AS YOU KNOW I TRY TO SHARE NOSTALGIC MEMORIES FROM MY WRESTLING CAREER AS A WAY FOR FANS TO REVISIT THEIR CHILDHOOD MEMORIES. SINCE MY TIME IS LIMITED DUE TO TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS THE POSTS ARE APPROVED BY ME AHEAD OF TIME AND SCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE.

“OUR FAMILY IS CURRENTLY NAVIGATING A DIFFICULT SEASON AND WHILE WE CANNOT SPEAK TO THESE EVENTS PUBLICLY, WE APPRECIATE YOUR PRAYERS DURING THIS TIME.

“PLEASE KNOW THAT I TRULY APPRECIATE THE LOVE AND SUPPORT FROM THE FANS! YOU HAVE BEEN A PART OF OUR FAMILY FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS, AND FOR THAT I COULD NEVER THANK YOU ENOUGH.”

Footage of DiBiase Jr. leaving jail after being released on bond has been made public as he also made a brief comment as he walked to his car.
