WWE Hall Of Famer Highlights Jazz As One Of Wrestling's Most Underappreciated Stars

WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline Moore has identified former Women’s Champion Jazz as the performer from her era most deserving of greater recognition and appreciation. During a recent interview with “JOB’d Out Wrestling,” Moore was asked which female competitor from her generation doesn’t receive adequate acknowledgment for their contributions to the business.

Without hesitation, Jacqueline named her former in-ring rival and occasional tag team partner.

The person that doesn’t get enough flowers is Jazz. She deserves all the flowers.

Jazz (Carlene Moore-Begnaud) made her WWE debut in 2001 after establishing herself in ECW. Known for her legitimate toughness and physical in-ring style that stood in stark contrast to many of her contemporaries, Jazz would capture the WWE Women’s Championship in 2002, defeating Trish Stratus at the Royal Rumble.

Her championship reign and subsequent feuds, particularly a memorable three-way program with Victoria and Stratus in 2003, helped elevate women’s wrestling during an era when it was often relegated to secondary status within the company.

Jacqueline and Jazz crossed paths numerous times during their WWE careers, sharing the ring on multiple occasions between 2001 and 2003. One of their most notable encounters came at Judgment Day 2003, where they competed alongside Victoria and Stratus in a fatal four-way match for the Women’s Championship. Jacqueline praised Jazz for their work together in the ring.

Love Jazz. She’s a great person to work with, just an all-around great person. So she deserves more flowers. She deserved that. She deserved it, and I love her to death.

Moore’s comments highlight the significant yet often overlooked contributions that Jazz made to women’s wrestling during the early 2000s. While contemporaries like Stratus, Lita, and Chyna have received considerable recognition in retrospective discussions of that era, Jazz’s impact has frequently been underacknowledged despite her technical prowess and championship success.

In another recent interview, Jacqueline Moore shared her thoughts on one of most ground breaking moments in her career – her WWE Cruiserweight Championship victory in 2004 over Chavo Guerrero and praising him for his work during their storyline and matches.
