WWE Hall Of Famer Explains Why They Think JBL Should Join AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on why AEW President Tony Khan should consider hiring JBL for a backstage role focused on talent management.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff discussed JBL’s extensive knowledge of both the wrestling business and the unique challenges talent face, qualities he believes would be a great asset to AEW.

JBL is a guy that understands, a guy that gets it.

Bischoff remarked, underscoring JBL’s experience in both the corporate and in-ring aspects of wrestling. Bischoff noted that JBL’s ability to relate to talent while maintaining a business-minded approach, could bring the balance AEW needs.

He certainly understands business but also understands the world from the perspective of talent, and that’s kind of what it takes really.

Bischoff suggested that if Khan is hesitant about playing the role of a strict authority figure, JBL could fill that gap effectively. He pointed out that AEW’s current environment may lack a strong-willed leader who can establish boundaries and make difficult decisions when necessary.

If Tony Khan doesn’t like confrontation, it’s gonna take a strong personality, it’s not gonna take a politician, it’s not gonna take a smooth-talking salesman; it’s gonna take somebody who can look you in the eye and say, ‘No.’ If you don’t have somebody like that, it’s not gonna work.

According to Bischoff, JBL would bring a disciplined approach, commanding the respect needed to manage the roster effectively.

What Did JBL Say About Rumours Surrounding His WWE Contract Status?

JBL addressed rumours about his WWE contract and said that the speculation that he has seen online about it is 100% wrong. JBL refused to clarify his contract with WWE because the company has a confidentiality clause in their contracts and he believes it is bad practice to discuss contracts publicly.
