WWE Hall Of Famer Edge Has Another Name Change In AEW
Cope has undergone another name change after returning to AEW.
At Dynasty, Cope teamed with FTR to challenge the Death Riders for the World Trios Titles, but it was what took place after the match that grabbed the headlines.
There had been tensions between Rated FTR heading into the event, and those tensions exploded after the trio failed to win the gold.
After an embrace between the trio, Dax Harwood delivered a sickening Piledriver to the WWE Hall of Famer. This was followed by a Shatter Machine, before Cash Wheeler and Harwood delivered a Mindbreaker Piledriver onto a chair.
Wheeler then hit the Con-Chair-To as doctors ran to the ring, but he simply hit his one-time friend yet again.
Cope eventually left on a stretcher and remained absent for several months.
Adam Copeland Is Back In AEW
At All In, Adam Copeland made his long-awaited return by surprisingly coming to the aid of Christian Cage, who was about to be destroyed with a Con-Chair-To from FTR. With the attack prevented and the ring clear aside from Cage, Copeland helped his real-life best friend to his feet, telling him to “find himself.”
On the following episode of Dynamite, the WWE Hall of Famer addressed his shock comeback and denied he’d come back to help Cage. Instead, he said he’d come for revenge on FTR.
This brought out Stokely Hathaway, who took a few verbal jabs at Copeland before the former WWE star tried to attack him, eventually connecting with a Spear.
Interestingly, the former Edge was again billed as “Adam Copeland” on show graphics and not “Cope” as he had been earlier in the year. However, he was still introduced as Cope by Justin Roberts.
