A WWE Hall of Famer has called on WWE to do more with Drew McIntyre.

Ahead of the match between the Scottish star and Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel, WWE released a promo package giving an insight into the two performers. However, for Bully Ray regarding McIntyre, it was too little too late.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray praised McIntyre for his role in the video but suggested there remains a disconnect between performer and audience. The tag team legend added that despite McIntyre’s obvious ability, at present WWE has done little to give fans a reason to care about him.

“If I’m going to care about a wrestler, a talent, a performer, an entertainer, they have to make me care in the ring first. The package will make me care more. Unfortunately, I don’t care about Drew.

I’m a fan of Drew as a person, as a guy outside of the ring. I’m a fan of his work. I’m a huge mark for his look because I think Drew is a gorgeous man. That is a man’s man. That’s a f***ing pro wrestler right there, but I don’t care about him. When he talks, that’s when you’re supposed to care, and unfortunately, Drew hasn’t done it for me since day one. I love everything about Drew, but when he talks, I just can’t get into him… As a fan, Drew hasn’t touched me deeply enough.”

In the match at Crown Jewel, McIntyre came up short against Rollins who retained the World Heavyweight Title.

Drew McIntyre No Closer To Signing New WWE Deal

Drew McIntyre is yet to sign a new contract with WWE despite his current deal expiring in early 2024.

In the latest update on the impasse, it was reported that McIntyre’s current contract will expire shortly before WrestleMania 40. McIntyre isn’t alone in having his contract expire in 2024, with Becky Lynch and Sheamus also among those with deals coming up.
