WWE Hall Of Famer Defends John Cena

John Cena promo on WWE Raw

According to one WWE Hall of Famer, John Cena most definitely does not suck.

For much of his career, John Cena was presented as someone who represented all that is good and right in WWE. No matter the obstacle and no matter the odds, Cena would find a way to overcome and triumph in the end.

This lack of defeats led to the rise of memes mocking his seemingly invincible abilities, while others felt his in-ring work wasn’t good enough to command the position he was given. By contrast, others, usually younger fans, loved Cena and backed him no matter what.

This made him one of the most divisive WWE stars in history with his matches and segments often greeted with duelling “Cena sucks” and Let’s Go Cena” chants.

During an interview with Dan Sileo of The National Football Show, WCW legend Diamond Dallas Page said he never understood why fans couldn’t get totally behind the 17-time World Champion.

“He carried that company on his back for 12 years. I could never understand ‘Cena Sucks’. ‘Let’s Go Cena’, I get that, but ‘Cena Sucks’, I’m thinking, what the fuck are you looking at, man? Not only can that guy work good enough, he’s believable as hell and he’s one of the best promo artists ever.”

John Cena Admits Retirement Tour Changes

During a recent interview addressing his heel turn and impending retirement, John Cena admitted that his current storyline had undergone “tons of pivots” as he prepares to end his wrestling career. The star has also emphasised that fans will impact how the remainder of his career plays out.

Cena will be back in action at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, where he’ll defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk.
