WWE Hall Of Famer Credits The Rock For “Epic” WrestleMania 18 Bout’s Success

WWE Hall Of Famer Credits The Rock For

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his thoughts on the standout moments that emerged from WWE’s acquisition of WCW, particularly highlighting the WrestleMania 18 match between Hulk Hogan and The Rock.

Speaking on his podcast “Kliq This,” Nash praised the legendary encounter as a significant highlight in wrestling history. He commended Hogan’s remarkable performance, noting how Hogan’s appearance and in-ring prowess during the event cemented his status as a star across three generations.

Hogan and Rock had a match at WrestleMania 18 that’s pretty epic, that whole run, Hogan came out of that, to me, he entrenched himself across three generations as the generational star. He looked like a million bucks, and he was probably 48 years old when he got in the ring that night in Toronto.

Nash also addressed criticisms of Hogan, particularly the accusations that he “politicked” his way to success. He defended Hogan’s legacy, emphasising his genuine contributions to the wrestling world. Nash also praised The Rock for his adept handling of the unexpected crowd reaction, where the audience fervently supported Hogan.

Dwayne could’ve made that very difficult for Hulk. When they started chanting ‘Hogan! Hogan!’ Dwayne switched gears a little bit. That was huge.

Reflecting on the WrestleMania bout, Nash underscored its importance in the lasting legacies of both Hogan and The Rock. He credited the match as a defining moment that showcased the best of both wrestling icons.

What Plans Did WWE Scrap To Make The Rock World Champion?

WWE reportedly had plans to have The Rock be the man to dethrone Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. However, it was reported that many executives were against that idea and instead wanted Rhodes to win the title and carry the company in 2024 and 2025.
