WWE Hall Of Famer Confirms Retirement At 54
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, confirmed his retirement from the wrestling ring in a recent post.
Ray is iconic for his time with the Dudley Boyz, winning over twenty major tag team titles in ECW, WWE, and TNA, plus a singles run as TNA World Champion and leader of Aces & Eights. His hard-hitting promos and legendary table matches made him one of wrestling’s most memorable heels and tag team specialists.
In a recent milestone bout, WWE Hall of Famers Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley faced the Hardy Boyz at TNA Bound For Glory on October 12, 2025, in Lowell, Massachusetts.
This historic tables match was winner-takes-all for both the TNA and NXT Tag Team Championships and featured a short surprise appearance by Spike Dudley. The Hardys secured the win, marking the end of a decades-long rivalry.

After the match, in a moment overflowing with respect, The Dudley Boyz removed their boots and handed them to Matt and Jeff Hardy, signifying their retirement and passing the torch in the tag team division.
A couple of days ago on Twitter, Matt Hardy commented on their “#FinalTable match” with Team 3D and how important it was for them. He thanked The Dudley Boyz for rewarding them with their boots after the match.
WWE legend Bully Ray wrote a response tweet, where he explained why he and his tag team partner decided to hand over their boots to The Hardys instead of leaving them in the ring. With his tweet, he also confirmed that he has indeed hung up his wrestling boots.
“Some wrestlers leave their boots in the middle of the ring to symbolize retirement. In retirement, we decided to hand the Hardys our boots in the ultimate sign of respect for the history WE created together. Emotional moment that will never be forgotten. ❤💪🏽 to Matt & Jeff”
