WWE Hall Of Famer Believes In Mike Santana, Not Joe Hendry

Mike Santana holds up the TNA World Championship

Mike Santana is the man to elevate TNA.

On the June 3 edition of NXT, Mike Santana challenged Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship after promising his daughter he would bring home the gold. However, the night would end in disappointment for TNA’s new talisman.

With Santana closing on victory, he was attacked by AJ Francis and KC Navarro, enabling Williams to grab the win and retain the World Championship.

Also on the episode, Mariah May made her stunning WWE debut to the surprise of everyone watching at the Performance Center and at home. The star wasn’t mentioned by name during the appearance, and she’s expected to be given a new ring name in the coming weeks.

Mike Santana Is The Future, According To WWE Legend

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray looked back at the main event and attempted to break down what should come next. With regard to Santana, Ray said he’s exactly what TNA needs, and could be a better fit for the role than former champion Joe Hendry.

“I believe more in Mike Santana than I do Joe Hendry. I really do. Santana is the guy for TNA. I’m not saying that Joe has not done a good job, but I think Mike Santana and his passion and his heart is really what TNA needs.”

Bully Ray went on to stress the importance of the follow-up on the angle and the need to hammer home the point that AJ Francis and KC Navarro are the reason Santana couldn’t fulfill his promise to his daughter.

The tag team legend added that the feud should continue until Slammiversary on July 20, where Santana should beat Williams to bring the title back to TNA on one of its biggest shows of the year.

“I want to see them take this rematch to Slammiversary. I want to see them take it into the TNA house. I want to see Mike Santana defeat Trick Williams on that TNA show.”

In closing, Bully Ray praised Trick Williams for his evolution as a heel, noting his increased maturity as he dives further and further into the role.
