Whilst many AEW fans are staunchly behind the product, a WWE Hall Of Famer isn’t so impressed with what he’s seeing.

There is a definitive focus in AEW on the in-ring action, rather than producing the larger storylines you’d expect to see in the competition. This has made many fans as they feel they’re getting more action, whilst others think the entertainment aspect is somewhat lacking.

One person who is not enamoured with the AEW product is Eric Bischoff. The former WCW head honcho has had plenty to say about Tony Khan’s product in the past, often to do with ratings, however he is now commenting on what goes on inside the squared circle.

In a discussion on the Strictly Business podcast, Eric Bischoff made clear how much bad wrestling there is, and even singled out Jungle Boy for some criticism.

They failed on that ’cause 80 percent of the in-ring presentation is less than. The Jungle Boy silly nonsense, I mean, there’s so much bad wrestling in AEW they don’t care about that. As long as they get their blood, or as long as they get one thing that they’re looking for.

If you take your emotions out of it or your, in my opinion, I don’t wanna say loyalty, but if you take off your fan glasses and just look at the product objectively, the in-ring presentation is not better than, in my opinion. You may feel differently, cool and fans may feel differently. But for me, I look at that, if I would’ve done some of the stuff I’m seeing currently in AEW or have seen recently in AEW, if I would’ve done some of that in WCW, WCW would’ve been trashed.

Eric Bischoff drew more comparisons between AEW and WCW, saying that the new company is making a number of the same mistakes.
