WWE Hall Of Famer Backs Chris Jericho’s Controversial Comments
Chris Jericho is making sure he stays ahead of the game.
On the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho, Chris Jericho got the world buzzing with his comments about TNA.
While reflecting on Bound For Glory, he said that TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world behind WWE. He praised the setup and production, suggesting it surpassed AEW’s recent presentation at the old ECW Arena.
To add to the situation, Jericho remains under AEW contract — At least for now. It hasn’t escaped fans’ attention that the company Jericho is praising just so happens to have a very healthy working relationship with WWE.
Jericho has been linked with a return to WWE for several months, with many reports suggesting he will leave AEW when his deal expires in December. This would set up an appearance at the 2026 Royal Rumble.
WWE Hall Of Famer Gives Credit To Chris Jericho
On the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on the speculation surrounding Jericho. He said that what the former World Champion has been doing is “brilliant,” noting that he’s playing chess.
“Here’s the fun thing about Chris. I’ve been watching the prequel to all this for about a year and a half. I’ve seen this train coming. Chris is constantly playing chess. In my opinion… I kind of think I see what he’s doing, and I think he’s brilliant.”
Despite many feeling that Jericho has all but confirmed that he’ll be signing with WWE, Bischoff sees the situation a little differently. He believes that the veteran is simply making himself more valuable, and that applies even if he stays with AEW.
“He’s raising his stock value. And guess what? If he stays with AEW, he’s more valuable than he was six months ago. And if he’s not going to stay with AEW, he has value that he didn’t have six months ago… But Chris is smart enough to see that.”
Bischoff went on to praise Jericho for his recent physical transformation, suggesting that also part of his wider plan. Perhaps surprisingly, given his usual disdain for AEW, Bischoff said he’d like to see Jericho remain All Elite.
“I really hope that, you know, this is Chris making a move so that he has more value to AEW… I’d like to see him raise his stock and make it matter in AEW.”
Jericho hasn’t featured for AEW since appearing on the April 7 episode of Dynamite. However, Tony Khan has repeatedly talked up Jericho’s importance to the company, stating that he’d love to work with him moving forward.
