Women in WWE should have a version of the Intercontinental or United States Championship, that is according to one Hall of Famer.

Currently, the Women’s Division competes to hold the WWE Raw or Smackdown Women’s Championship and the Tag Team Championships.

But one former King Of The Ring wants to see a new opportunity open up a pathway that mirrors the Men’s side, who can additionally fight for brand-led Tag Team Championships and the two singles Titles.

Booker T feels that it would help give an opportunity to give someone a “little bit of shine” by introducing a Mid-card Championship.

As a WWE Grand Slam Champion Booker T knows the impact of tag team and mid-card success to prove that a Superstar can handle becoming the face of the company.

Booker T was talking with Fox Sports ahead of Night One of the WWE Draft and shared his belief in giving an additional pathway to lift a Championship.

“We should have a mid-card belt for the ladies, almost like a television championship where it’s not competing with the Women’s NXT Championship, just to give someone else a little bit of a rub, a little bit of shine, as well as a little bit of something to work for because it always gonna be a while before you work your way to that big goal,”

In his commentary role for WWE NXT, Booker T sees first hand the level of competition in the Women’s Division.

Just as with the main roster, Superstars are working their way to win the NXT Women’s Championship or Tag Team Championship, whilst the Men’s Division also have the North American Championship to compete for.

NXT Superstar Roxanne Perez trained at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling School, and has gained huge success lifting the NXT Women’s and Tag Team Championships.

Perez recently lost the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand and Deliver on April 1st, with Indi Hartwell seeing off Perez, Gigi Dolin, Zoey Stark, Lyra Valkyria and Tiffany Stratton in a ladder match.
