Former Tag Team Champions Joining WWE Hall Of Fame

WWE Hall Of Famer Remembers Gruesome Injury From Early Match

A legendary tag team is expected to join the WWE Hall of Fame class in 2025.

The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025 so far includes the legendary Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Michelle McCool. Both of them were surprised when they were informed of their inductions.

It has been reported by Wrestlevotes on X/Twitter that the tag team known as The Natural Disasters consisting of Earthquake & Typhoon/Tugboat will be inducted in the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

As first reported on today’s WrestleVotes Radio, sources indicate a legendary tag team is set to join the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025—The Natural Disasters, Earthquake & Typhoon. A long-overdue, well deserved honor for the former WWF Tag Team Champions.

While Earthquake (John Tenta) had singles success for a few years before the Natural Disasters were formed, he became a Tag Team Champion as part of the Natural Disasters team.

The Natural Disasters teamed up from May 1991 through December 1992 and they won the WWF Tag Team Titles from Money Inc in July 1992. The Disasters held the titles for 85 days before losing them back to Money Inc in October 1992.

After losing the Tag Team Titles, Earthquake and Typhoon became singles wrestlers.

The Natural Disasters Have A Unique Relationship With Current WWE Product

John Tenta worked for WWE as Earthquake from 1989 to 1993 and also worked there as Golga during the late 1990s. He was also The Shark in WCW. Sadly, Tenta passed away at the age of 42 in June 2006 due to bladder cancer.

The character of Tugboat and Typhoon was portrayed by Fred Ottman. Tugboat was a babyface while Typhoon was more of a heel character. As a tag team partner of Earthquake, they were one of the heaviest teams in wrestling history.

An interesting bit of trivia about Ottman is that he is also the uncle of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his siblings. Meanwhile, his son Berkley Ottman is the timekeeper for WWE.

The inclusion of The Natural Disasters in the 2025 Hall of Fame has not been confirmed by WWE yet. The Hall of Fame ceremony usually takes place during WrestleMania weekend, but the company hasn’t confirmed a date for it yet.
