WWE Hall Of Famer Scathing Of Kazuchika Okada’s Role In AEW

Kazuchika Okada entrance on AEW Collision

Kazuchika Okada needs to do more in AEW.

After a couple of crossovers, while still signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Kazuchika Okada officially became All Elite in March 2024 where he aligned with The Elite.

The star then quickly picked up the Continental Championship with a win over Eddie Kingston, before waging war on AEW and Tony Khan. This in turn led to appearances in Anarchy in the Arena and Blood and Guts.

Meanwhile, as champion, Okada will be taking part in the second Continental Classic that kicked off on November 27th.

However, some fans feel Okada has leaned too heavily into the comedic aspects of his character, and that’s done an incredible disservice to his skills in the ring. And it seems those fans aren’t alone.

Ex-WWE Star Unimpressed By AEW’s Use Of Kazuchika Okada

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry gave his thoughts on Okada’s AEW run to date, and it’s fair to say he’s disappointed. The WWE Hall of Famer said Okada has been badly underutilized given his skillset and reputation as one of the best wrestlers on the planet.

“[Kazuchika Okada] was one of the best wrestlers in the world, top 5, and now you have him delegated to saying ‘B****’ to pop the crowd. Let him go and work, man. That dude is amazing,

I want to hear the coin drop and people say ‘Oh man, it’s about to go down,’ not people hearing the coin drop and saying, ‘Oh boy, here we go,'”

Okada’s most recent absence from the ring is in large part due to the birth of his second child with wife Suzuko Mimori. The couple’s second son was born earlier in November.

The former NJPW star wrestled his first match in the Continental Classic on the upcoming episode of Collision against Daniel Garcia. You can find the full list of spoilers for the November 30th edition of Collision here.
