WWE’s “GOAT” Tribute Video For John Cena, More Notes On SNME Final Match
A John Cena WWE “Greatest Of All Time” tribute video has been produced, and more information has come out about his final match.
The day is finally here as WWE prepares to give future Hall of Famer John Cena a proper sendoff in what will be his last WWE match.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., the former 17-time WWE World Champion John Cena will face the former 2-time World Champion Gunther for the first and last time.
In a video posted by WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, on social media and WWE’s YouTube channel, it’s the cold open video paying tribute to Cena as the “GOAT” aka the Greatest of All Time in WWE history. The video was written by Mark Kriegel and narrated by Triple H.

John Cena Will Have A Familiar Referee For Final WWE Match
There are more details coming out about Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, as Fightful Select reported that veteran referee Chad Patton will be the referee for the Cena/Gunther match. Patton has been with WWE for over 25 years, so he’s been in the ring with Cena perhaps as much as any referee in the company.
Fightful Select also confirmed that WWE had planned for Gunther to be Cena’s final opponent for several months. Even when Gunther was injured for a few months, they were still going with Gunther in the match.
While it was Cena’s idea to have the NXT talent on his final, Fightful reported that Cena didn’t necessarily pick which wrestlers from NXT would be on the show.
It is still not known if Vince McMahon or Donald Trump will be at the event. Trump is attending the Army-Navy college football game in Baltimore, which is obviously close to Washington, D.C.
There will be additional wrestlers at the show, as Fightful reported that there will be dark matches.
John Cena’s first WWE opponent, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, is at the event, as shown by WWE backstage at the event.

The legendary 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels also posted a video from a plane because he was heading to DC to see Cena’s final match in person as well. Michaels, of course, is an executive in WWE and runs the NXT brand, so he’ll get a chance to see his NXT performers in person.
