WWE Gives In To Fan And Wrestler Pressure As Premium Live Event Returns

WWE boss Triple H

A new report claims a WWE Premium Live Event is returning.

On October 28, 2018, WWE held what many thought would be an annual all-female Premium Live Event, Evolution.

Riding high off the back of the ‘Women’s Revolution’ the event was created to highlight WWE’s women’s division which was now stronger than at any point in its history.

The card featured a mix of legends and present-day stars in action, with a Last Woman Standing Match between SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, and the Raw Women’s Title match between Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella taking the headline spots.

The likes of Trish Stratus, Mickie James, Lita, Bayley, and more were also involved.

Since then, fans and WWE Superstars alike have called for the event to be brought back, with Bayley issuing a public plea in May 2024. But after years of silence, it appears that those calls have finally been heard.

WWE Evolution To Return

In early March it was reported that WWE was planning on bringing back Evolution on July 5, again sparking fan interest in the event. In a new update, Wrestle Votes backed up that report, noting that not only is Evolution coming back, but an announcement will be made before WrestleMania.

“After speaking with sources, we can confirm WWE is set to bring back the highly anticipated ‘Evolution’ PLE this summer. The return of the all-women’s event is expected to be officially announced before WrestleMania.

Credit to @Cory_Hays407 who had heard rumblings of this rumor weeks back.”

Following WrestleMania, only three main roster Premium Live Events have been announced with Backlash scheduled for May 10, SummerSlam for August 2 and 3, and Clash In Paris on August 31.
