WWE Forced Star To Re-Do Match For Bizarre Reason

Vince McMahon WWE

Not everything a soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer did during their career was popular with the management.

On February 14 it was announced that Michelle McCool will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. McCool will join Triple H as part of the class of 2025 during WrestleMania 41 weekend.

The star originally signed with the company in 2004 and debuted on the main roster two years later after spells with developmental territories Deep South Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling.

The former middle school teacher was eventually crowned the first-ever Divas Champion and later became the first woman to hold both the Divas and Women’s Titles.

McCool retired in 2011 citing several injury problems and a desire to start a family. The star has since competed in a handful of Royal Rumble and Battle Royal matches with the last of these coming in 2023.

Michelle McCool Upset WWE Hierarchy

Before news of her Hall of Fame induction broke, the star sat down with Chris Van Vliet to discuss her life, career, and everything in between. While looking back at her time in the ring, Michelle McCool revealed she “hated” her most high-profile storyline, and repeatedly apologised to her on-screen rival.

The former Divas Champion also recalled one infamous moment where she and Victoria were told to re-do their match after the action looked “too good.”

“There was one point where Victoria and I had a match. We came backstage, getting changed, and they came back and said, ‘Hey, y’all need to come back out and do your match again.’ We’re like, ‘What do you mean come back out and do our match again?’

They’re like, ‘Your punches and kicks look better than the guys.’ We’re like, ‘Wait a minute. We have to go redo our match because our punches look too good? That doesn’t sound like an us problem.’

Chris Jericho at the time, he stood up for us, and he said, ‘If the guy’s punches don’t look as good, that is not the girl’s fault. That’s not their fault.’ Regardless, we had to go out there and redo our match, and there was a period of about three or four weeks that girls couldn’t punch or kick.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that a legendary WWE tag team could also be headed for the Hall of Fame. Two of the most successful tag team wrestlers in company history recently signed new Legends deals bringing them back under the WWE umbrella for the first time in several years.
