WWE Forced To Make Major Plan Shift After Naomi’s Pregnancy

Naomi

On August 18, 2025, Naomi stunned the WWE Universe on RAW by announcing her pregnancy. The revelation meant she relinquished her WWE Women’s World Championship just 36 days into her reign.

The Glow won the Women’s Money in the Bank earlier this year and cashed it in at WWE Evolution 2 to become the Women’s World Champion. She also had a successful title defense at SummerSlam, which saw her emerge victorious over IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. She was scheduled to defend her title against Evolution Battle Royal winner Stephanie Vaquer at Clash in Paris later this month. But that won’t be happening anymore.

According to Fightful Select, Naomi’s pregnancy forced WWE to enact huge creative shifts to her storyline. However, it wasn’t mentioned what those changes were. The Women’s World Championship now sits idle with no champion to bear it. Therefore, fans can expect WWE to move quickly and build a fresh storyline to crown a new champion.

Naomi’s Interview with Stephanie McMahon: Letting Fans Down & Return Plans

Naomi and Jimmy Uso recently sat down for an interview with Stephanie McMahon on her What’s Your Story podcast. However, her pregnancy news was revealed and discussed in a special bonus edition of the podcast, which was aired after the former Women’s World Champion declared her pregnancy on Monday Night RAW this week.

In her sit-down interview with McMahon, Naomi confessed she felt she let fans down primarily because she had to abruptly relinquish the WWE Women’s World Championship and step away from in-ring competition due to her pregnancy.

She shared her disappointment about not being able to fulfill scheduled title defenses and continue her momentum as champion. But she has vowed to return soon. Naomi’s message was clear: this is only a pause, and she fully intends to pick up where she left off, even if she has to return with her baby in tow. She also detailed her medical struggles related to pregnancy in the same interview.
