WWE Star Hoping For First WrestleMania Singles Match

A veteran member of the WWE roster is hoping that WrestleMania 40 will be their first time in a singles match at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Bayley is a woman who has done it all in WWE in terms of winning championships throughout her decade-plus-long career.

Since 2016, Bayley has been on the main roster bouncing between the Raw and Smackdown brands. She has been a Women’s Champion three times on the main roster and a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion as well.

Something that Bayley hasn’t done in her WWE career is have a singles match at WrestleMania. At WrestleMania, Bayley has had five matches. One of those matches was a Fatal 4-Way, there was a battle royal, a Fatal 4-Way tag team match, a 5-Way elimination and a 6-woman tag team match last year.

While speaking to Cageside Seats, Bayley spoke about wanting to win this year’s Royal Rumble and then going onto WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia for her first singles match at WrestleMania.

“Everybody knows that when you win the Royal Rumble, you get to point at the sign and the fireworks go off. That’s the stuff you dream about. I’m excited to feel that. I wanna feel that and I wanna get that singles match at WrestleMania.”

Bayley also reacted to WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H praising her as the all-star of the Women’s division in WWE.

“I hope he really meant it. It’s all over Twitter, so he can never take it back (chuckles)… To hear [Triple H] say that makes me feel like we’re like right there, because everything he said [at Fastlane] is everything I’m trying to be and more.”

Bayley Loses To Bianca Belair On WWE SmackDown

On the January 12th edition of WWE Smackdown, Bayley lost to a familiar opponent: Bianca Belair. The two women have wrestled many times on television and at live events over the last three years with the babyface Belair usually getting her hand raised over the heel Bayley.

After the match, Bayley was frustrated with her Damage CTRL not helping her cheat against Belair. It seems as though the group might be kicking Bayley out soon, which could lead to Bayley getting that singles match at WrestleMania against WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY if WWE decides to go in that direction.
