WWE Firings Demanded Over Booking Of Ex-World Champion

Triple H WWE Evolution

Triple H and his WWE creative team were blasted for their booking of a former World Heavyweight Champion.

Drew McIntyre climbed to the top of the Stamford-based company during the pandemic era. However, his career has since taken a few steps back.

The Scottish Warrior’s World Heavyweight Championship reign lasted only a few minutes before Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 40.

Although he had a memorable feud with CM Punk afterwards, the 40-year-old has failed to return to the top, losing several world championship matches over the past two years.

Vince Russo Is Shocked By WWE’s Booking Of Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is currently in a program with Cody Rhodes. Earlier this year, the two squared off three times for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, The Scottish Warrior failed to dethrone The American Nightmare. They are now set to clash one more time for the title on the January 9 episode of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany, in a Three Stages of Hell match.

Speaking to -7 Sports, former WWE head writer Vince Russo slammed the creative team for their booking of McIntyre. The wrestling veteran claimed “people need to be fired” over that.

Bro, the fact that Drew McIntyre isn’t at the top, are you kidding me? Like, bro, when I talk about, bro, tattoo dollar signs all over this freaking guy. Look at the way they book this guy, bro. People need to be fired. But now they’re redoing that Highlander franchise. Drew McIntyre is now going to make himself a star and [Killer] Kross is going to do the same, bro. [44:41 onwards]
