WWE Would Have To Fire Triple H Under Certain Circumstances

WWE Triple H

Triple H has been facing a lot of criticism lately, mainly because of his booking decisions.

WWE started a new partnership with ESPN in September 2025. The first PLE under the deal was WrestlePalooza, which didn’t attract many viewers, giving WWE and ESPN’s partnership a poor start.

According to the latest reports, WWE’s viewership figures appear to be experiencing an overall decline. The majority of the criticism is aimed at WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, Triple H, who is being blamed for producing a dull and repetitive product each week on television.

That said, Hollywood star Freddie Prinze Jr. recently claimed on his podcast that ESPN is not happy with WWE.

ESPN, by the way, so unhappy with the deal. I was talking to a friend of mine who works for Disney, and he was just like, ‘Yo, they better make their money back on this deal.’ He just said, ‘They’re hot.’

Triple H May Lose His Job

Vince Russo and Jonathan Coach discussed Freddie’s comments on the recent edition of the Coach and Bro Show. Russo claimed that if things don’t get better, WWE would be forced to fire Triple H from his creative head position.

I don’t think WWE really understands the magnitude of the ESPN deal. Let’s just say, for argument’s sake, they pull the plug on the deal early. Okay. Now, we’ve got a track record of Fox Sports and ESPN, two huge platforms.

Coach, at that point, you have to have the discussion of pulling the plug on Triple H creatively. You have to have that discussion at that point. (From 1:01:56)
