WWE Fire Over 100 Employees, Nick Khan Emails Remaining Staff
The layoffs are over for now in WWE.
WWE is no stranger to making huge amounts of cuts to its roster, but following the Endeavor takeover, September 15th saw over 100 employees let go from the company.
In the lead-up to the takeover being completed, staff in the company were said to be “gritting their teeth” as cuts were expected now the sports entertainment giant and UFC are under the same umbrella. And those worries proved to be well-founded.
On September 15th, WWE laid off over 100 employees with PWInsider reporting that the Insights & Analytics team lost at least 17 employees while the Marketing, Graphic Design, and Live Events departments were also decimated with the WWE Network and Podcasting divisions also seeing cuts.
What did Nick Khan tell the remaining WWE staff?
At the end of the day on September 15th, Nick Khan emailed the remaining staff with this message:
“Thank you for your patience and understanding today. All individuals impacted by today’s workforce reductions have now been notified. We thank all of these colleagues for their contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”
It remains to be seen if more cuts are to come further down the line or if the roster will be affected at any point going forward.
