WWE Finally Cut Ties With Fired Star

Triple H WWE

WWE has finally had a change of mind and fully cut ties with a star it fired earlier in 2025.

On October 1st, Andrade El Idolo made a shock return to AEW just weeks after it was reported he’d been fired by WWE. According to that report, the former US Champion was let go after several breaches of the company’s wellness policy.

However, his return to AEW was very short-lived as it soon emerged that WWE contracts contain a non-compete clause for an entire year if the star in question is fired for cause.

Andrade recently made a shock return to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he will be part of the Wrestle Kingdom card on January 4th. And it seems, he could be heading elsewhere any time now.

WWE Waives Andrade’s Non-Compete Clause

Fightful Select has noted that after Andrade made appearances for both House of Glory and NJPW, he is now officially a free agent and can sign with any company he wants, including AEW. The report notes that Andrade’s deal with WWE officially came to an end on December 12th.

AEW star and Andrade’s former partner in Los Ingobernables, Rush, is said to have introduced him to an attorney and representative who has worked closely with WWE for years, and that helped get his year-long non-compete finally waived.

It was noted that Andrade’s US visa also ended when he was fired by WWE, but he is said to currently be in the United States, and the visa issue is being handled.
