On the January 6th edition of Monday Night Raw, John Cena kicked off his retirement tour in style.
In a passionate promo, Cena outlined his desire to win the Royal Rumble before heading to WrestleMania to become a 17-time World Champion. The number 17 is especially significant as it would take Cena beyond Ric Flair for the record number of World Title wins.

John Cena Defends Lack Of Big WWE Losses
During a recent interview, John Cena responded to criticism from fans that he was unbeatable during the peak of his career.
After hitting the main event, Cena very rarely lost and was regularly able to overcome impossible odds to keep winning. This saw a section of WWE’s fanbase dub him “Super Cena,” while “LOL, Cena wins” became a popular taunt on social media.
In his defence, Cena said he had to keep winning and remain dominant in order to make his losses mean as much as possible.
