WWE Figures “Very High” On Injured Star
WWE has big plans for one rising star.
Kiana James hasn’t wrestled since competing in a Money In The Bank qualifying match back on the June 17, 2024, edition of Monday Night Raw. The match also included Zelina Vega and the eventual winner, Iyo Sky.
Although usually a regular on NXT, James had already wrestled her first match on Raw two weeks earlier, and her future seemed incredibly bright. However, that momentum was brought to a shuddering halt by a leg injury believed to be a knee problem.
But while the star hasn’t been able to appear on television, that doesn’t mean she’s been forgotten.
According to a report from Viper Reports, 2026 could be a big year for the rising star.
I heard some good things about Kiana James over the last couple of days. I’d expect her to return and slowly rise up through the ranks. 2026 could end up being good for her if all goes to plan.
Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net added that people within WWE are “very high” on the star.
Several within WWE are very high on Kiana James. Her work ethic and dedication during rehab caught the eyes of a few and I’d expect her to get a push in the next year once she returns.
Booker T Not Surprised By WWE Releases
In James’ absence, WWE has released several Superstars across the main roster and NXT. The latest cuts came in early May and saw the likes of Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, and NXT stars Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade leave the company.
On a recent episode of his podcast, NXT announcer Booker T said he wasn’t surprised to hear of the releases, noting they’ve been part of the company structure for several years. His main hope was that any talent who was let go would be prepared for whatever comes next.
