WWE Figures Aware Major Show Has “Dipped” In Quality

Triple H WWE announce desk

There are rumblings of discontent backstage in WWE.

It was recently reported that “Road Dogg” Brian James had been made co-head Writer of WWE SmackDown. The move was greeted with a mixed reaction from fans who suggested his previous spell in the role had been underwhelming.

The veteran’s appointment came after SmackDown moved to three hours on January 3 — a move that has also given mixed results in the eyes of many.

However, it seems fans aren’t the only ones feeling frustrated.

WWE Figures Dislike SmackDown Change

As reported by Wrestle Votes via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, there are people backstage who “strongly dislike” SmackDown being three hours. Furthermore, they feel as though the quality of the show has also dropped since the change was made.

“We are told several within the company strongly dislike the three-hour SmackDown format, as those sources feel like the quality of the show has dipped in the last two months. Prior to the expansion, there was optimism and belief that some underutilized talent would be able to shine, considering the extra hour. However, that has not come to fruition as of yet.

SmackDown is still scheduled to return to two hours come this June.”

In better news, it’s been reported that WWE LFG has been renewed for a second season, and filming is already underway in Orlando, Florida. The show sees 16 hopefuls try and earn an NXT contract while training under the guidance of several legends and Hall of Famers.
