WWE Allegedly Feared Major Creative Move With Jey Uso
WWE may have made a mistake with Jey Uso’s reign.
Jey Uso lost his World Heavyweight Championship after 51 days. WWE received major backlash after The Yeet Master’s loss. Now, Disco Inferno spoke about a creative error the company made with Uso’s title run.
On the K100 with Konnan and Disco Inferno, Disco Inferno spoke about the issue with WWE booking Jey Uso’s championship reigns. He pointed out that many promotions often pair fresh titleholders with mid-card talent rather than established main-eventers, missing key opportunities to elevate both the champion and the title. He stated that WWE should have booked Uso against top-tier names before having him drop the title to Gunther. Instead, the company played it safe.
“So, they do this constantly. They treat the belt like a prop. They don’t treat the belt like something that should be respected and people should be striving for. It’s like Jey Uso has a belt, and guys like Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, they should all be gunning for Jey Uso… Every company [including WWE] constantly does this; they give the guy the belt because you’re scared because you don’t want your top guys to lose to him and stuff. You’re not going to do that. You put him with characters that he should beat.”
