WWE Fans Worried After Netflix Suffers During Jake Paul Fight
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson finally squared off in something resembling a boxing match but WWE fans were left concerned by Netflix’s struggling stream.
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s delayed boxing match finally took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of WrestleMania 32. Former World Heavyweight Champion Tyson went into the fight at 58 years of age and the WWE Hall of Famer lost to Paul with a unanimous decision.
Many boxing fans expected the bout to last the full 8 rounds with Jake and his brother Logan Paul’s boxing matches resembling more WWE contests than classic fights.
Netflix Stream Concerns Many WWE Fans
The bout streamed live on Netflix and much of the talk afterwards was about the poor streaming quality and frequent buffering that spoiled the big fight for many.
This will concern many sports entertainment fans as Monday Night Raw moves to Netflix in January 2025 and will air live on the streaming giant every week. Netflix now has a few short weeks to ensure the same bugs that plagued the Paul/Tyson fight do not interrupt WWE’s flagship show which is currently airing on the USA Network until the end of 2024.
Other WWE content will also be moving to Netflix around the globe as other TV deals expire meaning the streaming giant needs to make sure its live capabilities are up to scratch.
