WWE Faces Competition In Race To Sign Chris Jericho
What’s next for Chris Jericho?
Chris Jericho hasn’t been seen on AEW television since walking out on The Learning Tree on the April 7 episode of Dynamite. But more interestingly, there’s been growing speculation that he might never be back.
Jericho’s AEW contract expires in December, and for many fans, this leaves the way clear for a return to WWE at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. As noted in a recent report, WWE’s pitch to Jericho would include a match at WrestleMania and a Hall of Fame induction.
For his part, Tony Khan has repeatedly stated that he’d like to continue to work with Jericho, highlighting his importance to AEW during its early years.
However, it seems it isn’t only WWE and AEW who want to work with the veteran.
Several Companies Interested In Chris Jericho
According to a new report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, there are several national and international companies interested in working with Jericho when his AEW deal expires. This list includes WWE.
Jericho’s name has been brought up among “higher-ups” in the sports entertainment giant, but there’s no word on whether these conversations have made their way to the creative department.
Furthermore, WWE mentioning Jericho’s name on television in recent weeks was said to be a “good sign of his interest.” Jericho would likely command a deal worth “seven figures annually” if he re-signed with WWE, although sources believe that AEW could match the offer if pushing to keep him.
