WWE won’t be jumping at the chance to work with AEW.

With partnerships springing up across the wrestling landscape, Tony Khan recently revealed he’d “love” to work with WWE, even if a deal was a longshot. But despite Khan’s positive outlook, the WWE position appears to be very different.

During an appearance on the Sports Media Podcast with Richard Deitsch, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations & Head of Communications Chris Legentil was about a combined card featuring the two companies, and immediately shot the idea down.

“No interest. I just want to make clear. There is definitely a variety of excellent talent that don’t currently reside in WWE. There is no shot there that is being fired. It’s just to say, the answer to your question is no conversation has been had in relation to that,”

Tony Khan Takes Aim At WWE PR

Although he’s seemingly open to working with the company, Tony Khan recently accused WWE PR of planting fake stories about AEW.

During a media call ahead of ROH Death Before Dishonor, Khan claimed that stories suggesting he had agreed a new media rights deal with Warner Bros Discovery came from WWE PR.

The AEW boss said “WWE PR really gets involved in a lot of things they shouldn’t get involved in,” while reiterating that he’s confident of securing a big deal for AEW. But crucially, he remains adamant that one is yet to be agreed.
