WWE Ends 24-Year-Long Streak In 2025
A 24-year streak in WWE will come crashing to an end at the end of the year.
Streaks are something that WWE takes great interest in. There will perhaps be none better than The Undertaker’s impressive, undefeated streak at WrestleMania that spanned decades and saw him defeat some of the biggest names of all time on WWE’s biggest stage.
But one streak that will not be continuing is the company hosting a Hell In A Cell match every calendar year since 2002. 2001 was the last year in company history that there was not a Hell In A Cell match since the special bout was introduced to the company in October 1997.
No Hell In A Cell In WWE In 2025
Now, with only days left of the year, and WWE taping their final shows, 2025 will go without a Hell In A Cell match as well, ending a 24-year streak.
The last Hell In A Cell match that took place in the company was at Bad Blood in October 2024 and saw CM Punk end his heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre as he picked up a victory over the Scottish star.
While the feared Cell normally gets an outing once or twice in a calendar year, the company went crazy for the bout in 2021, with 5 Hell In A Cell matches taking place. Roman Reigns defeated Rey Mysterio on SmackDown to retain the WWE Universal Championship. At the Hell In A Cell PLE, Bianca Belair defeated Bayley, and Bobby Lashley picked up a win over Drew McIntyre. The following night on Raw, Lashley was back in the Cell, this time defeating Xavier Woods.
At Crown Jewel later in the year, Edge picked up a victory over Seth Rollins. That was the WWE Hall of Famer’s first victory in Hell In A Cell and the first time he’d been part of that match since losing to The Undertaker at SummerSlam 2008.
