WWE Allegedly Planning To End Almost 300-Day Title Reign
Tiffany Stratton has been a champion for around nine months.
Stratton won the WWE Women’s Championship on January 3, 2025, by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax during an episode of SmackDown. Since then, she has established herself as a dominant champion with multiple successful title defenses, including notable victories over top stars like Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill.
Last week on Friday Night SmackDown in Arizona, Stratton had a singles match with Kiana James, which she won. But after the bout, James and the current WWE Women’s United States Champion, Giulia, attacked her.
Jade Cargill made a return to SmackDown and initially appeared to help Tiffany Stratton. She cleared the ring of the attackers and raised Stratton’s arm in a show of support. However, in a shocking turn, she suddenly attacked the champion, delivering a vicious clothesline and targeting her knee, causing significant damage.
Jade Cargill Turned Heel And Attacked Tiffany Stratton On WWE SmackDown
This betrayal marked a heel turn for Cargill and set up a major showdown between the two. Later, WWE announced that Tiffany Stratton will defend her title against Jade Cargill at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter discussed Cargill’s heel turn on the recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s UnSKripted podcast. He stated he was impressed with Jade Cargill’s heel turn and thinks that Cargill tapping into her darker side will finally help her defeat Stratton for the title at SNME.
“I like the new, improved version of Jade Cargill. They needed to up her one more level, and I think her going crazy over Tiffany Stratton last week on SmackDown proved that they’re ready to go one more level up with her. And I think we will find her, by the end of her match with gold around her waist as the new Women’s Champion,” Apter said.
