WWE Drops Major Shinsuke Nakamura Update During In-Ring Absence
There has been a huge update on the WWE status of Shinsuke Nakamura as his in-ring absence continues.
The last time WWE fans saw former Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in the ring was all the way back on the June 13th edition of SmackDown. His latest absence comes after Nakamura missed seven months from TV in 2024 despite competing on live events during that time.
However, despite questions about his future in the company, it seems WWE does have some plans for Nakamura as he’ll return to the ring in his native Japan.
Shinsuke Nakamura Returning To Japan
WWE has announced two supershows in October to take place in Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on the 17th and 18th. Shinsuke Nakamura has been advertised for matches on those shows, with WrestlePurists reporting that the former NJPW star will team with Jey Uso to face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed before teaming with Uso and CM Punk to face the entire might of The Vision.
Another major star in Japan will feature on both nights as Giulia will put her WWE Women’s United States Title on the line on night one when she faces IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. On night two, Giulia will clash in a singles bout with Kairi Sane.
