WWE Allegedly Downgraded Jey Uso To Mid-Card Role

Jey Uso WWE

Jey Uso could be losing momentum in WWE.

The Leader of the Yeet Movement has been on a downward spiral ever since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther on the June 9 episode of RAW.

Although the 39-year-old qualified for the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament, he lost to Cody Rhodes. Last night, Uso competed in the Gauntlet Match for a shot at Gunther’s title at SummerSlam. Nevertheless, he was eliminated by Bron Breakker before CM Punk defeated the latter to earn the victory.

On The Last Word podcast, former Interim RAW General Manager Jonathan Coachman and his co-hosts addressed Uso’s current status in WWE. The Coach claimed the former World Heavyweight Champion has been demoted to a mid-card role.

You know what they did? You know what they’ve done? They took one of the best tag teams of all time, and his brother Jimmy had his issues, and so I’m quite sure backstage Jey said, ‘Hey man, I’ve gotta go on my own because every time you get in trouble it hurts me.’

And then he becomes a champion and they now have made him a midcarder. That’s what they’ve done, tag team, champion, to mid-carder. And there’s no way at this point, Gabby, that they can make him any more than that after 15 years. [25:23 onwards]

Jonathan Coachman Slammed WWE For Jey Uso’s Booking

On the same episode of The Last Word podcast, Jonathan Coachman and his partners also criticized WWE for having Jey Uso “Yeet” twice mid-match last night on RAW.

The Coach described Uso’s actions as one of the “dumbest” bookings he had ever seen.

What did Jey Uso do tonight? He came out, beat down Bron (Breakker) a little bit, and then started to Yeet?! And then, as the announcer alluded to it, he went back and, ‘Let’s do it again! Let’s roll it back.’ And he Yeeted twice during a match that would lead to a match to get his title back. Some of the dumbest booking I’ve ever seen.
