WWE Wanted Donald Trump At John Cena’s Last Match

It has been reported that WWE wanted US President Donald Trump to be at John Cena’s last match.

The world of WWE and politics don’t always go together, but they do when WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump is the President of the US for the second time.

In the days and weeks leading up to John Cena’s Final WWE Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, there were rumors about Donald Trump possibly going to the show since it was being held at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., which is the capital city of America.

As it turns out, Trump didn’t end up going to the event, even though he was in the area since he was at the Army-Navy college football game that afternoon in the Baltimore area.

Dave Meltzer wrote on the Wrestling Observer’s Daily Update that WWE wanted Trump to be there.

“Neither Vince McMahon nor Donald Trump was at the show. They wanted Trump. He attended the Army vs. Navy football game not far away and could have made it to both but his decision was not to come. Linda McMahon was at the event. Jesse Ventura was only put on the pre-show.”

Triple H Likes Donald Trump For Not Being Afraid

The WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, isn’t hiding his support of Trump. After all, Triple H’s father-in-law, Vince McMahon, is a long-time friend of Trump, while The Game’s mother-in-law, Linda McMahon, is part of Trump’s cabinet as US Secretary of Education.

Meanwhile, Triple H has appeared at the White House with Trump numerous times and is part of the President’s drive to make the nation’s children healthier.

When speaking about Donald Trump in the past, Triple H praised the US President heavily for being a charismatic person.

“Yeah, I mean, I think if you go back through history, even in politics, and you look at the person that gets elected in every presidential cycle, it’s the most charismatic person on that stage that gets elected president.

The issues are important; all the real-life day-to-day things that are important to people, obviously, are there, but at the end of the day, they’re picking who they like. They’re picking who connects with them. They’re picking who is charismatic to them.

Donald Trump was very good in our world of WWE because he was okay to be himself. He was okay to sort of get egg on his face and be embarrassed sometimes. He was okay to put it all out there and just be him. But he’s charismatic. He’s larger than life. He’s not afraid to say what’s in front of them, right or wrong. The Rock is the same way that connection with people is, really, in my mind, what drives the planet.”

Even though Donald Trump tends to post comments on social media more than a bored teenager (he posted 158 times in a day in early December), he did not comment on Cena’s retirement. Unlike Triple H, Cena doesn’t make his political feelings public.
