WWE Dismisses Speculation Around Rhea Ripley
There remains no guarantee that Rhea Ripley will headline Elimination Chamber.
On February 24th, 2024, WWE will return to Australia for the first time since 2019 for Elimination Chamber.
With the event taking place at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australian star Rhea Ripley is expected to feature in a marquee match on the show. However, speculation about Ripley’s role went into overdrive on October 19th when 7NEWS Adelaide aired an exclusive interview with the star stating that she’ll “headline” the event. The point was then hammered home in a post on social media.
This led to some fans claiming it had effectively been confirmed Ripley won’t be losing her Women’s World Title between now and the show. But things might not be that straightforward.
As reported by Haus of Wrestling, a WWE source said nothing had been confirmed.
“Rhea Ripley will be on the show, and creative will dictate the match and match position.”
The source added this is simply a case of “local news doing what they do, but all good.”
Rhea Ripley To Defend Women’s World Title At Crown Jewel
It’s been announced that Rhea Ripley will defend her Women’s World Title against four challengers at Crown Jewel. At the event on November 4th in Saudi Arabia, Ripley will face Zoey Starks, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shayna Baszler.
It’s been a good week for the Judgment Day star after she landed in the number one spot on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated 250.
