WWE Dismiss Vice President-Level Staff

WWE Boardroom

The backstage changes in WWE continue with a new report stating that the company has removed vice president-level staff from the company’s marketing department.

2022 has been a year of great upheaval in WWE with many changes taking place behind the scenes at the company. The year started with several members of NXT’s backstage team including William Regal and Road Dogg being let go but bigger changes were yet to come.

Stephanie McMahon stunned the world when she announced she would be taking time away from the company following her husband Triple H’s health issues in late 2021. However, that hiatus proved to be short-lived as Vince McMahon was forced into retirement in July following allegations of sexual misconduct being levelled at him.

Stephanie McMahon soon returned to become WWE Chairwoman with Triple H being named the company’s Chief Content Officer as he takes the reins on the company’s creative output.

Taking to social media, Wrestlenomic’s Brandon Thurston reported that changes have come again at the vice president level of the company’s marketing department with layoffs taking place:

“I’m told there were layoffs today to WWE’s marketing department. Multiple people at the VP level were let go. Possibly a part of a restructuring to that department. EVP Catherine Newman was hired this summer as the new head of marketing.”

It was widely reported at the time that Catherine Newman was hired as Stephanie McMahon’s direct replacement despite having a different job title.
