WWE Showing Total Disdain For AAA By Spoiling Title Match

Triple H WWE boss

One WWE Hall of Famer thinks the company has shown nothing but contempt for AAA by spoiling an upcoming title match.

WWE announced the purchase of AAA at WrestleMania 41, and despite that not being finalised yet, it seems the sports entertainment giant is already throwing its weight around.

On the May 26 edition of Raw, WWE announced Vikingo would face Chad Gable at the upcoming Worlds Collide show on June 7. What was notable about that announcement was that the match was said to be for the AAA Mega Championship despite neither man holding that title.

The current AAA Mega Champion is Alberto Del Rio, who is set to defend that gold against Vikingo at an upcoming AAA TV taping. This means fans were quick to notice that WWE’s announcement spoiled the result of that bout. But WWE Hall of Famer and two-time AAA Mega Champion Jeff Jarrett is not surprised.

Jeff Jarrett Unhappy With WWE’s Treatment Of AAA

Speaking on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett gave his thoughts on the situation and said it boils down to WWE not caring at all about AAA and what the promotion had advertised:

They don’t give two sh*ts what is advertised in AAA. They’re going to get out the match they want to get out.

Can you tell me where was the first Worlds Collide? LA, correct? AAA and Konnan and Jake, they sold out Sports Arena with lucha libre fans, AAA fans. I cannot wrap my head around why they are willingly sh*tting on the core of the Forum show. The core fan base of the Forum show hypothetically is the AAA fan base.

Boy this is clearly telling us, yeah, they only bought it for the IP, they don’t care about nothing else. That is a little surprising to me that they’d have such a disdain or total lack of — they could care less. I get that, hey man, they have to make the 90-day numbers, period. The quicker they can get Gable, their guy, and Vikingo, their soon-to-be guy, the quicker they can get them advertised, the more awareness.
