WWE Discussing Introduction Of New Championship
Is even more championship gold coming to WWE?
On the January 6th, 2025 episode of Raw Roman Reigns will meet Solo Sikoa in Tribal Combat. The former World Champion made the challenge on the December 13th edition of SmackDown, telling his rival he was coming for the Ula Fala.
Reigns has been gunning for Sikoa since returning to WWE at SummerSlam, with their most recent battle coming inside RawGames at Survivor Series.
However, when they meet on Raw, there could be more on the line than the Ula Fala and family pride.
WWE Discussing New Championship
As reported by Wrestle Votes, the company has discussed potentially creating the “Tribal Chief Championship,” something akin to the People’s Championship held by The Rock.
Sources indicate WWE has discussed introducing a Tribal Chief Championship into the storyline between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, similar to the People’s Championship presented to The Rock at WrestleMania earlier this year.
During the 2024 Hall of Fame ceremony, The Rock was presented with the “People’s Championship” by Muhammad Ali’s widow Lonnie. While the title isn’t an official WWE Championship, that doesn’t mean it won’t be utilised as such.
Back in April, it was reported that The Rock could have a Title vs. Title Match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. If this storyline is picked up, it would see Rhodes hold the Undisputed WWE Title until at least WrestleMania.
Although there’s been no official announcement, The Rock is expected to return to Raw on January 6th, 2025 when the show premieres on Netflix.
