The Real Reason WWE Didn’t Sign Stephanie Vaquer Sooner
Stephanie Vaquer has taken WWE by storm since debuting in the company but she’s revealed why they didn’t snap her up sooner.
Stephanie Vaquer has had a whirlwind year after losing her NJPW STRONG Women’s Title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door. Almost immediately afterwards, it became clear the Chilean star had signed with WWE.
Four months after her on-screen debut, Vaquer won the first gold of her WWE career when she captured the NXT Women’s North American Title. She soon captured the NXT Women’s Title as well before losing that gold to Jacy Jayne and being moved to the main roster, where she was part of Money In The Bank.
The sky seems to be the limit for Vaquer in WWE, but now she’s revealed why the company passed on her several years ago.
Stephanie Vaquer Too Green For WWE
Speaking to Nikki and Brie Bella on The Nikkie and Brie Show, Stephanie Vaquer explained that WWE thought she needed more experience after a previous tryout, so she travelled the world, learning as much as she could:
Seven years ago, I did a tryout for WWE. But no good. I’m green, I need to learn more.In the beginning for me, I feel a lot of frustration like say, okay WWE is my dream and I’m not ready but I really want. So I started training different discipline and say okay I go to Mexico, I go to learn more and I need to go for all the world, all the planet, and learn different styles and conquer styles and learn. So, the last seven years I work really, really hard.
